Scott Belsky

Today, I interviewed Scott Belsky, CEO of Behance.  His online Behance network, attracts more than 4 million visitors each month.  Scott drives creative endeavors from an execution standpoint.  His core belief: That success is made up of 1% inspiration, and 99% persperation (he’s in good company, since Edison believed the same thing).   Here’s his bio below:

Scott Belsky believes that the greatest breakthroughs across all industries are a result of creative people and teams that are especially productive. As such, Scott has committed his professional life to help organize creative individuals, teams, and networks. Scott has spent the past five years developing the knowledgebase for Behance, as well as the key concepts and methods that promote productive creativity. Behance’s projects include the Behance Network (behance.net), a leading online network for top creative professionals. Behance.net has become one of the most efficient platforms for creative professionals to broadcast their work to top agencies, fans, peers, and recruiters. In 2008, Behance launched the Action Method, a bold attempt to boost productivity in the creative world.

Prior to founding Behance, Scott was a part of Goldman Sachs’ Pine Street Leadership Development Initiative where he focused on organizational improvement and leadership development for Goldman Sachs and key clients. Scott’s education is in design, environmental economics, and business. He is a graduate of Cornell University and Harvard Business School.

Scott got his MBA at Harvard, but didn’t stop there.  After launching Behance and the online network, he started the Action Method, a portfolio of productivity tools aimed at simplifying lives and empowering the execution processes.  He also has a book coming out called Making Ideas Happen, check it all out.   You will not be dissapointed.

The great thing about interviewing Scott, for me, is that his work aligns so tightly with my interests.  By interviewing Scott, it was like I found this amazing, perfectly packaged playbook for how to succeed at what I want to do–namely, run my own high-impact company, and provide empowering, productivity tools to others throughout the world.  Lots of cool overlap.

Good stuff.
